  • Login credentials (hashed password; we never store plaintext passwords)

  • Nutrition label OCR text extracted from label photos
  • Pantry items you add or import

  • Meal plans and meal planner preferences
  • Recipe imports (from URLs or pasted text)

  • Google OAuth — sign-in with Google (if enabled)
  • Google Cloud Vision — nutrition label OCR scanning (if enabled)
  • Open Food Facts — barcode product lookup (community database)
  • USDA FoodData Central — nutrition data enrichment
  • AI providers — recipe generation, meal ideas, ingredient analysis, and food identification
  • Hosting, database, email, and cloud storage providers — infrastructure services that host and operate the app

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve SnapMeals features
  • Process food scans, generate recipes, and plan meals
  • Manage your subscription and billing
  • Send account-related communications (welcome emails, important notices)

  • Detect and prevent misuse or fraud

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your app data (pantry, grocery, scans, recipes, meal plans, nutrition goals, family profiles). Certain billing, tax, fraud prevention, security, and legal compliance records may be retained as required by law.

SnapMeals provides food and nutrition information for convenience and informational purposes only. Nutrition data, allergy alerts, health scores, AI-generated recipes, and dietary suggestions may be incomplete or inaccurate. Always verify information from official food labels and consult a qualified professional for medical or dietary advice.
